You will be hearing new voices on the Oilers broadcasts this year.

For the past 20 years you have heard the voice of Kevin Quinn on Edmonton Oilers regional games. His delivery was smooth & concise, however in the past couple of years he may have gotten a little slower in his delivery. Constantly forgetting names or getting them wrong. It also didn't help when he had Drew Remenda as his partner. I will miss this call in overtime games...

Yes, his classic OVVVVERRRRTIIIIIIME WINNER, will be missed.

Sportsnet did not pick up the contracts of Quinn or Drew Remenda (Thank the lord). Tom Anselmi, Business President and COO of Oilers Entertainment Group had this to say...

"We thank Kevin Quinn and Drew Remenda for their professionalism and contribution to our broadcasts and wish them the best in the future," He also added "Oilers fans deserve the very best television and radio broadcasts possible and we believe we are delivering that for the 2020-21 season and beyond," So what will that future look like?

The Team

One familiar face will be on colour commentary and that will be Louie Debrusk. The new play by play man is Jack Michaels. Now Michaels will still be on the call on 630 for national games and playoff games (if we are so lucky).

Jack Michaels took over the radio broadcasts in 2010 after legendary play by play man Rod Phillips retired. Known for his electric goal calls and knowledge of the game, he will be a great fit doing TV for the Oilers this season. Here is one of my favourites from him...

`The new season start for both Jack Michaels and the Oilers Wednesday vs Vancouver.
