The Oilers Kind of Played a Game!
As training camp goes on, the Oilers are trying to take shape and get into shape! The Oilers had there first training camp scrimmage yesterday and it just good to see the fellas out there playing a game with their friends! Here were the lines for the scrimmage...
TEAM WHITE
RNH - McDavid - Kassian Ennis - Draisaitl - Yamamoto Nygard - McLeod - P.Russell
K.Russell - Barrie Koekkoek - Bouchard Niemelainen - Stanton
Koskinen Forsberg
TEAM BLUE
Archibald- Turris - Puljujarvi Benson - Khaira - Chiasson Kahun-Shore - Griffith Quine - Marody - Cracknell
Nurse - Bear Jones - Larsson Lagesson - Lennstrom
Smith Skinner
So there is one question I did ask myself, why would Tippett put McDavid & Draisaitl on the same team for this? I only came up with two answers for this:
He really hates Team Blue and wanted to crush their hopes and dreams.
He wanted them to work the power play with Tyson Barrie.
I'd go with the latter.
So what happened?
Well team white won in OT with a goal from the dynamic duo, McDavid & Draisaitl. Opening the scoring was somebody who we all thought would score! Seth Griffith. The new number 13, Jesse Puljujarvi, scored a goal and was very happy to do so with that great Jesse smile! It's hard to evaluate anything from a scrimmage game in training camp. However it was just nice to see some Oiler hockey again!

All in all a great little game and a expect to see more games like this in training camp because of no pre-season games. The season officially starts Wednesday VS Vancouver!
