Bodycheck Bangers: Songs for NHL

With this social distancing business we got going on, I’ve been playing a lot of Chel by myself. Starting new GM Mode after new GM Mode because I get bored easily. That means a lot of menu music while I try to retool a team. (I took the awful Red Wings to the promise land on semi-pro difficulty, no big deal). I’m getting pretty sick of the NHL 20 Soundtrack, to be honest. A lot of the songs sound the same and they all just blend together. So I took the liberty of making a new soundtrack with songs that would actually keep me focused on the task at hand - go 82-0 and win the Cup. In no particular order... 1 - There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back - Shawn Mendes. This is also the headliner to my Elliptical Entertainment playlist. It’s both motivational and inspirational. It should push you to build the best team you can. No excuses, make it happen. 2 - Trip Switch - Nothing But Thieves 3 - Legacy - Fefe Dobson. Don’t you wan to leave a legacy? A dynasty if you will. 4 - Oughta Know That - Jon Pardi. Our first Country entry and it is a certified jam.

5 - All Me - Drake ft. 2 Chainz & Big Sean 6 - Might Not - The Weeknd ft. Belly 7 - Old Town Road - Lil Nas X. Sometimes you just need a relaxing, familiar tune playing in the background while you try to complete a stressful trade. 8 - Big League - Tom Cochrane & Red Rider. Gotta mix in a classic. The only song on this soundtrack that’s actually about a sport. 9 - He Went To Jared - HARDY ft. Morgan Wallen. 10 - Pleaser - Wallows. Clay from Thirteen Reasons Why is in this band. And the kid can sing. 11 - No Brakes - Conch 12 - Shake It - Metro Station 13 - New York Soul, pt. ii - Jon Bellion. A good mix of calm and going off. 14 - Code Red - Token. This one slaps. Beat, lyrics, delivery, everything. Good when you’re going into the playoffs. 15 - BLOW - Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, Bruno Mars. Bring on it home Chris. Gosh damn that man can belt it out. If this song doesn’t get you fired up then there is no fire within you. So there it is. 15 songs sure to get you pumped to play Chel.
