Vegas/What is up next for the Oilers

Well I survived Vegas! It was a time. First off the atmosphere in that building is electric. It was a Wednesday night vs Edmonton and the building was loud all the time. The in game entertainment was obviously great because, Vegas duh! Yes the game wasn't great if you were an Oilers fan, however it was still a blast and I didn't win any money in the game...

I would go back in a heartbeat maybe for a playoff game this year????? Also going to a hockey when the outside looks like this is pretty cool!

WHO HAS BEEN HOT?

Yesterday was a big win for the Oilers against the Winnipeg Jets. Mike Smith was fantastic and the top guys did top guy things! Congrats to Leon Draisaitl for hitting 100, 101 and 102 points last night! The individual stats have been great for the Oilers. Obviously Connor & Leon have been great but how about Nuge! Check this stat out...

In the 24 games the Oilers have played, Nuge has 33 points! Just great after such a slow start. He has 53 points in 59 games and has found a home with Leon on his line.

GETTING HEALTHY!

Saying the Oilers need to get healthy is like saying plants need water, PB needs J and its like saying I need to hit the snooze button at least 5 times before I get out of bed! Yes they need to get healthy. Mike Green was an Oiler for 2 games before he sprained his MCL. If all things go well he should be back for the playoffs. Good news is that Kris Russell is back so the veteran presence is back for the young defensemen. The Oilers forward crew looks to be getting Kailer Yamamoto for Monday's game vs Nashville. There have been multiple setbacks for James Neal so hopefully we see him back in early to mid March. Getting healthy is a must because it doesn't get easier from here on out.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Here is that segue! Like I said it does not get easier for the Oil this month. 3 game road trip coming against Nashville, Dallas and Chicago which is also 3 games in 4 nights. Back at home vs playoff caliber teams for 4 games. Here is the good news; there are 17 games left and of those 17, 10 are at home. You NEED to take advantage of that. Saying they have to go 7-2-1 in those home games is not a crazy thought right?

I do have to say, this is fun right? Meaningful games in March all leading towards a crazy playoff stretch. It really doesn't get better than this! I said this yesterday vs Winnipeg. This is stressful, but damn it is some of the most fun stress!
